Harvard-Kent Elementary School
Our story begins with the over 350 individual scholars who enter our doorways each day. Students in grades PreK-6 at the Harvard-Kent Elementary School delve into learning tasks, working toward building their skills as readers, mathematicians, scientists, and most importantly, critical thinkers. Teachers exude a mixture of joy and urgency as they facilitate instruction that encourages children to take ownership of their learning. Families congregate outside the school for our daily morning assembly, checking in on one another and with their child’s teacher. At Harvard-Kent relationships are developing at every level of our organization. These relationships, coupled with a strong vision of the engaged critical thinkers we seek to inspire, have created the conditions for our continued growth. We pride ourselves on celebrating our community's rich cultural and linguistic diversity. We provide a motivating, and inquiry-driven learning environment with high expectations. Students at the Harvard-Kent have a minimum of a variety of enrichment courses every week that include subjects such as visual arts, physical education, science, library, and Mandarin all delivered in spaces dedicated to developing our children in these critically important experiences. Educators, administrators, families, and the community work collaboratively to establish a nurturing and inclusive environment where students demonstrate their P.R.I.D.E. daily. We work together with community partners such as Courageous Sailing, Community Boat Building and NEMPAC to bring experiential learning to life for our kids.
